A three-day long International Conference on “Applied Statistics” has begun today December 27, 2019 at Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban Auditorium of Dhaka University (DU). Pro-Vice Chancellor (Administration) of DU Prof. Dr. Muhammad Samad inaugurated the conference as the chief guest. The Institute of Statistical Research and Training (ISRT) of DU has organized this conference with a theme of “Emerging Challenges in Data-centric World”.
Conference Chair Prof. Dr. M. Sekander Hayat Khan presided over the inaugural function while President of American Statistical Association (ASA) Dr. Wendy Martinez addressed it as the special guest. Director of ISRT Prof. Dr. Md. Israt Rayhan gave vote of thanks.
Pro-Vice Chancellor (Administration) of DU Prof. Dr. Muhammad Samad stressed the need for development of data management skills of young generation to make Bangladesh a prosperous country. He hoped that this conference would create a common platform for statistical researchers around the world and participants would be highly benefited by this event.
It may be mentioned that academicians and researchers from 19 countries are participating in the conference where about 200 research papers will be presented.
