In order to promote mathematics education in the country, a tripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) among Bangladesh Mathematical Society, BacBon Ltd and CASIO, Japan was signed today, June 14, 2017 at the Treasurer’s office of DU. President of Bangladesh Mathematical Society Prof. Dr. Sajeda Banu, CEO of BacBon Ltd Abdul Matin Sheikh and Representative of CASIO, Japan Kaito Miwa signed the MoU on behalf of their respective side.
Treasurer of DU Prof. Dr. Md. Kamal Uddin, Chairman of the Department of Mathematics Prof. Dr. Amulya Chandra Mandal, Secretary of Bangladesh Mathematical Society Prof. Dr. Md. Shahidul Islam and some other teachers were present on this occasion.
According to the MoU, Bangladesh Mathematical Society, BacBon Ltd and CASIO will undertake joint collaborative program for development of mathematics education in secondary and higher secondary level in Bangladesh with the financial support from CASIO Company, Japan. They will work together to improve skills and teaching ability of Mathematics teachers in all the districts of Bangladesh. They will arrange workshops, training programs and conferences on mathematics. Dhaka University Mathematics Department as well as Bangladesh Mathematical Society will provide support and cooperation in this regard. This project will continue from 2017 to 2020.
