Eight meritorious students of the Department of Chemistry of Dhaka University (DU) have been awarded “Prof. Abdul Muktadir Memorial Scholarship” for their outstanding academic performances. Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. AAMS Arefin Siddique distributed scholarships among the students as chief guest at a function held today, February 23, 2017 at the VC’s lounge of the university.
Treasurer of DU Prof. Dr. Md. Kamal Uddin presided over the function while Chairperson of the Department of Chemistry Prof. Dr. Nilufar Nahar, one of the donors of the trust fund Dr. Abdul Mnaem and Acting Registrar Md. Enamuzzaman were present, among others, on this occasion.
Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. AAMS Arefin Siddique urged the students to equip themselves with moral values to make Bangladesh a prosperous country. Students have to make themselves as worthy citizen along with their academic excellence, he added.
The recipients of scholarships are- Md. Mazharul Islam, Salma Akter Mou, Imrul Shahriar, Md. Mahmudul Hasan, Tanjinatul Karim, Pushpita Acharjee, Raihana Afroz and Maksuda Perveen.
