Dr Humayun Kabir is currently on post-doctoral study leave and living in Australia. He has completed PhD degree from the School of Health, University of New England, Australia in 2022. Before that, Humayun completed an MA in 'Gender and International Development’ from the University of Warwick, UK in 2014. Dr. Humayun secured 1st in a first-class position both in the BSS (Honours) and MSS exams from the Department of Sociology, University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. For one decade, Dr Humayun’s research has focused on the health risks/vulnerabilities (along with the associated risk factors) of industrial workers, with a particular emphasis on understanding South and Southeast Asian clothing workers’ health and safety, hegemonic masculinity, and gendered health issues. He also has experience working on several projects focused on vulnerability and resilience related to suicide exposure, especially in Australian and low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) perspectives. His research work has been published in journals housed by Sage, Oxford University Press, Springer Nature, Frontiers, Wiley, and Taylor & Francis. His work was cited by numerous national and international scholars (Citations: 419, h-index: 8, i10-index: 7). Dr. Humayun is an enlisted reviewer for a good number of international Scimago-listed high-ranked journals. He is passionate about researching the vulnerable, exploited, socially excluded, and victimised people both in developing and developed country contexts.
