Md. Mahfujur Rahman has been serving as a Lecturer at the Institute of Health Economics, University of Dhaka, since May 2023. He holds both an MSS and a BSS in Health Economics from the same institution and is presently pursuing an MPhil degree under the esteemed supervision of Dr. Syed Abdul Hamid. Prior to his current role, he contributed significantly as a Research Associate at the Institute of Health Economics for four years (June 2019–April 2023), engaging in multiple research activities.
At present, Mr. Rahman imparts knowledge to undergraduate students through the course HE-305: Mathematics III. With over six years of extensive experience in teaching and research in Health Economics, he has established himself as a dedicated academic and researcher.
His primary research interests encompass health economics, health systems, healthcare financing, public health, population dynamics, and social safety nets. Throughout his career, he has collaborated with several prominent regional organizations, including the Health Economics Unit (HEU), NIPORT, the Health Services Division of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MOHFW), DGFP, and Sajida Foundation.
Mr. Rahman has also worked with a range of international development agencies, such as UNICEF, WHO, USAID, Helen Keller International, Thinkwell, Concern Worldwide, GIZ, and JICA, contributing to impactful projects that align with his areas of expertise.
His unwavering commitment to advancing health economics and improving public health outcomes continues to shape his academic and professional endeavors.
